Providing Self-learning Opportunities Across India

Project Overview

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), we embarked on a mission to provide self-learning opportunities to students across India. Initially conceived as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, this initiative has evolved into an indispensable component of millions of students’ learning journeys nationwide.

Scope

  • Amidst the Covid-19 lockdown, the Ministry of Education faced the daunting task of ensuring continued learning for students across the country. The solution devised consisted of two main components:
  1. TV Broadcasting: Digital content would be broadcasted on 12 TV channels nationwide, with each channel dedicated to a specific grade. A published schedule enabled students to access expert-led teaching sessions from the comfort of their homes.
  2. On-demand Learning via LMS: Recognising the limitations of fixed scheduling, it was decided to supplement TV broadcasts with on-demand access to interactive learning experiences through a Learning Management System (LMS)

Drawing on our expertise at iScuela, we were entrusted with the implementation of this ambitious project. Over the course of four years, we have facilitated access to high-quality educational content for millions of students, both through TV broadcasts and our digital platform.

Recognition

The initiative has garnered global acclaim, culminating in the prestigious UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize awarded on June 24, 2022. This recognition underscores the success of our efforts in revolutionising education delivery and empowering students across India with self-learning opportunities.
